This program is for entrepreneurs who intend to reside permanently in Canada.
With this program, immigrant entrepreneurs can expand their companies in Canada. Successful applicants connect with private sector organizations to gain the budget, guidance, and expertise needed to reopen their operations in Canada.
Eligibility Conditions
This program attracts creative foreign entrepreneurs who try to start new businesses and expand the country’s economy. To apply for this visa, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Having English or French Language Qualifications. (Having level 5 abilities from (Canadian Language Benchmarks) CLB);
- Sufficient budget to stay in Canada;
- Planning to stay in a Province other than Quebec, Canada;
- Obtaining Security and medical licenses in Canada;
- Proof of Support for your business on behalf of a specific organization;
- Proof of Ownership of your business.
In addition, more than five foreign nationals cannot apply for permanent residence for business investment under the Start-up Visa Program.
Investment Details
The Office for Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship of Canada has identified several venture capital, angel, and incubator investment organizations to assist in the Start-up Visa program. If the investment fund is Venture, the investment must be at least $ 200,000, and if it is an angel investment, it must be at least $ 75,000. In the incubator business, applicants do not need any investment guarantees.
Documents required for Investment Migration
A Venture, Angel, or Business Incubator investment organization must send the Certificate of Completion directly to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizens of Canada organization to prove that one of them supports the applicant. This document contains data related to the agreement between the applicant and the investment organization; in other words, the purpose of providing it is to summarize the details of the documents between the investor organization and the applicant.
