Before Moving
Proper and accurate planning and preparation for obtaining a study permit and traveling to Canada will be very effective in having a successful educational experience.
Prepare the required Documents:
You may not be allowed to board a plane, enter Canada, or begin studying in Canada without the following documents:
- Valid Passport
- Temporary Residence Visa
- Introduction Letter (from the visa issuing office that approved your study permit application)
- Acceptance Letter and your Residency Documents
- Certificate of financial ability
- Travel Insurance Certificate
- One-way Ticket; and a Return Ticket to your Country if needed
Remember that it is better to keep these documents with you or in your handbag. In addition to the original documents, you must bring at least two photocopies of each item mentioned above.
Packing of necessary Supplies and Equipment
After preparing and arranging the required documents, consider enough time to prepare for the trip. Research enough about the weather in the city you live in and choose and pack suitable clothes depending on the weather there. To further ensure a comfortable and hassle-free entry into Canada, you shouldn’t bring prohibited goods, including food products related to this ban.
Financial Issues
Most Canadian airports have Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). However, we suggest that, in addition to your credit card, it is better to carry around $100 to $200 in cash for accidental purchases or unexpected things that may happen after entering Canada.
Booking and Planning for Airport Transportation
In the big cities of Canada, in addition to taxis and buses, there are also metro or railway lines. Most training centers also offer airport pick-up services, using which you can safely travel to and from your home, dorm, or apartment.
Remember that if you use a taxi to reach your destination, it is better to consider a 10-15% tip for the driver in addition to the fare!
