In most cases, students wishing to study at a Canadian post-secondary institution must submit a letter of acceptance from an immigration-approved educational institution when applying for a Canadian study permit. Applicants must provide the DLI (Designated Learning Institution) number for the school of their choice. The DLI number is a number that begins with the letter “O” on the application form. In exceptional cases, students may not need to provide a letter or DLI number for their application.
