The PGP (Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship) Program and the Super Visa Program are two programs that give Canadian citizens and permanent residents the opportunity to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada.
To be eligible under this program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Be the Child or Grandchild of the persons whom you support financially;
- Meeting the MNI (Minimum Necessary Income) required for the size of your Family Unit and submitting the Assessment Notices issued by the Canada Revenue Agency as proof;
- Signing a Support Agreement that confirms your promise to provide for the basic needs of Family Members for 20 years;
- If you live in Quebec, you must also sign an additional agreement.
Your spouse can help you get the income by signing that contract.
In this case, your spouses must meet the following criteria:
- Not be financially supported;
- They have lived with you for at least one year in a marital relationship.
